DAML+OIL
The pre-cursor to OWL. OWL copies it almost to the letter.
Darpa Agent Markup Language
along with the Ontology Interexchange Language extend RDF in order to create a language for describing ontologies.
There exist
many ontologies
written in DAML+OIL available for your use.
You should always first try to reuse or extend existing ontologies.

which provides a good overview.
