 Progress Report Reminders

Monday, 31 January 2005, 12:47PM

Just a reminder that the progress reports are worth 15% of your grade and only one group submitted one last week and only one submitted it for this week---and they were late. PRs are due at 10am on Mondays, but better late than never.

 Statement of Academic Integrity

Monday, 24 January 2005, 03:22PM

I remind you USC's Statement of Academic Integrity

I understand that it is the responsibility of every member of the Carolina community to uphold an maintain the academic standards and integrity of the University of South Carolina. Any member of the University community, who has reasonable grounds to believe that an infraction of the Code of Student Academic Responsibility has occurred, has an obligation to report the alleged violation.

In other words, if you know of someone else who is downloading code from the net and claiming it as their own then it is your responsibility to report that person. Otherwise, you both face expulsion.

If you copy you will fail the class and be reported to Academic Affairs.

Get a Calling Card for Filling Out a Survey

Wednesday, 12 January 2005, 03:52PM

I received this email:

Dear Instructor Vidal: The students in your Capstone Software Engineering Project, Section 1 class have been selected to participate in the Core Alcohol and Drug Survey conducted by the University of South Carolina's Alcohol & Drug Program between the dates of January 24 and March 4, 2005. The Core Alcohol and Drug Survey is an established instrument developed by the Centers for Alcohol and Other Drug Studies (CORE) Institute for use with higher education populations.... The objective is to gather information regarding USC students' patterns of alcohol and other drug use and perception of substance use patterns among peers. The data will help Alcohol & Drug Programs design appropriate substance abuse prevention activities and targeted educational programs....The survey is self-administered and will take students approximately 30 minutes to complete.

He also says that you

are welcome to come by the office during the day to complete the form. For their participation they will receive a 15-minute phone card! We (Alcohol & Drug Programs) are located in the West Wing of the Russell House!
